Youth Tour to Washington DC

Hill County Electric Cooperative is proud to sponsor a student for the annual Washington D. C. Youth Tour. The tour brings together more than 1,000 high school students to visit historic sites, monuments, museums and to meet their states' congressional representatives.

This year's essay contest topic: “Cooperatives are member-owned and controlled, as a future decision maker for your cooperative, describe the best ways we can connect and communicate with you.”

Please explain your answer in 500 words or less. Essays must be double-spaced, typed, no longer than two pages and must be accompanied by an Applicant Information sheet - available at the HCE office or onlineDEADLINE for entries is November 30, 2012.

This is an all expense paid "trip of a lifetime". Interested high school sophomores or juniors who receive service from HCE should check with their high school guidance counselors or contact HCE. To be eligible, student's household must be served by Hill County Electric Cooperative. Electric co-ops around the state individually sponsor an essay contest to select a participant from the co-op's service area.
