Basin Electric Scholarship

MECA Memorial Scholarship
Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association (MECA), of which Hill County Electric Cooperative (HCE) is a member, awards two scholarships annually in the amount of $500 each. Applicants or applicants’ parents or guardians must be a member of an electric cooperative that belongs to MECA. HCE is proud to be a member of MECA and encourages all eligible students planning to attend college as an undergraduate in the fall to apply for this scholarship opportunity. Applications available in late fall of each year.

Member & Member Dependent "Luck of the Draw" Scholarships
(2 - $500; 1 - $300; 1 - 200)
Members and member dependents enrolled or planning to enroll in the fall an accredited college pursuing an undergraduate degree are invited to attend the annual meeting and enter the drawing to win one of the "Luck of the Draw" scholarships to be awarded at the annual meeting. To be eligible for the scholarship drawing, students must complete entry form and attend the annual meeting. Member dependents must be accompanied by a parent who is a member of HCE.
Come to HCE's Annual Meeting May 11th beginning at 10am at the MSU-Northern Student Union Building in Havre for your chance to win one of four Luck of the Draw scholarships available - a total of $1,500 will be given away by luck of the draw. Fill out the entry form and bring to HCE's Annual Meeting. Those eligible students not winning a Luck of the Draw scholarship will receive a $100 scholarship just for attending!
HCE Workforce Development Scholarships
HCE offers two specific scholarships to students training in the electrical field. Applicants must reside in one of the five counties served by HCE (Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Fergus and Chouteau), but need not be cooperative members to apply.
Line Technician Scholarship
Hill County Electric (HCE) offers a $1,000 scholarship for a student residing in one of the five counties served by HCE and who is entering an accredited electric line technician school and who plans to work in Montana as a line technician. Download a copy of the application. Deadline is March 1.
MSU-Northern Electrical Technology Scholarship
HCE offers a $500 scholarship to a student who is entering or currently enrolled in the Electrical Technology program at Montana State University-Northern in Havre, MT and who plans to work in Montana in the electrical technology field. Download a copy of the application. Deadline is March 1.




Basin Electric Power Cooperative (BEPC) provides a scholarship to be awarded by HCE annually to a member’s dependent and also a scholarship is available to employees of BEPC members' dependents. Eligible applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time graduate or undergraduate program at an accredited, two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of education and career goals and an outside recommendation.
