Ground Source Heat Pumps
Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) are “down to earth” heating and cooling systems designed to tap the earth’s stored energy. This unit powered by electricity, pulls the heat from the earth to warm your home during the winter months. During the summer months, simply flip a switch and this system will pull heat from your home to the earth. Waste heat from GSHP can be used to heat water at a very low cost. Tax credits are available when you install GSHPs. As an incentive for members installing a new system, HCE sub-meters the pump and pays the electricity the first 12 months for GSHPs. In addition, HCE offers credits of $500 for each new installation of qualified GSHP systems to assist in funding the purchase and installation. Funds are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact HCE’s Operations Coordinator at 1-877-394-7804 for more information.
